What is consignment?

We will help you sell your items and take a fee for doing that. When you bring your items in to us, we will select items that we believe will sell. You receive money after your items sell.

What items will you accept?

We accept women’s & juniors better brand clothing, accessories, and small gift items. (See Consignment Information to learn how we accept consignments).

When can I bring items in?

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 6pm.

Do you buy outright?

How will I know when my items have sold?

We don’t call consignors. It is up to you to contact us to check on your account. You can check your account online by the link on our website, or you can call or stop by any time and we can tell you how much money is on your account. You can collect money whenever you want, no fees or hassles. Accounts are updated daily.

What happens if my items do not sell?

After 60 days, we clearance items and donate the unsold items to charity. All items go to charities that do not sell these items, but rather give to the needy. If you have a particular charity that you like to donate to, that charity can contact us about how we can help them. We like to give to a variety of local charities. Charity receipts are available upon request.

What if I want my unsold items back?

We prefer people leave their unsold items, but are happy to pull unsold items for you. You must let us know 2-3 days before you will be picking up your items, so we can have time to pull those items. Items must be picked up by the end of your consignment term.

Who sets the prices?

We do. We know what our customers are willing to pay for items. When you consign with us, we are in business together and we will price your items as high as possible, yet still make them marketable. If you consign something that you feel is very valuable, please let us know so we can price it accordingly.

What are the advantages to consigning with you vs having a garage sales?

We will do all the work, and probably make you more money! We will:

  • consign your items for 60 days
  • do all the advertising
  • be open 7 days a week
  • provide dressing rooms
  • display items nicely in our store (and out of bad weather)
  • save you hours of labor
  • make you more money!

Example: Jeans, garage sale price $2.00, our price $10.00 (you get $4-$5).

Why should I consign with Selective Seconds vs another shop?

When comparing consignment shops, consider everything. We are open 7 days/week, therefore your items are available to customers for a full 60 days. When you consign with us, we are in business together. We will mark you items as high as possible, yet still make them marketable items. Our goal is to sell them at full price.
